Florida Supervisors of Elections Thanks State for Securing CARES Funding
Today, the State of Florida took an important first step in ensuring healthy elections in 2020.
On behalf of the Florida Supervisors of Elections, Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections Craig Latimer thanks Governor DeSantis, Secretary of State Laurel Lee, and the state legislature for securing much-needed CARES funding from the U.S. Election Assistance Commission, to be used at the state and local level to help offset COVID-19 related expenses for federal elections in 2020.
“Our association looks forward to working with the state over the coming days on the allocation of these funds, and Florida’s Supervisors of Elections stand ready to put them to good use to protect the health and safety of our voters, poll workers, staff and our communities at large,” said Supervisor Latimer.
Supervisor Latimer is the current president of the Florida Supervisors of Elections, an association of Florida's 67 elections officials.
