Tallahassee, FL—June 24, 2013: The Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections (FSASE) is deeply disappointed with Governor Scott’s veto of HB 249.
“We at the FSASE appreciate the legislature passing HB 247, as it utilizes technology to save taxpayer dollars while respecting the voter’s privacy in their dealings with their respective Supervisor in receiving their sample ballot via email” said Lori Edwards, FSASE President. “Unfortunately, the Governor chose to veto HB 249 which negates the voter privacy protection and will sadly undermine the confidence of the voters in the process who have a reasonable expectation of privacy in dealing with matters relating to elections.”
